Tutorials
can be a vital component of your training program at the college.
Students gain a great deal from meeting a tutor and having their technique,
consultation process or mini Yoga session assessed.
Tutorials can also cover areas which are not covered in the course material.
Our students are conscientious,
studious and fun loving and attend our range of weekend tutorials to get the
full benefit from their studies.
In addition students find
it refreshing and supportive to meet others and swap ideas and progress.
In order to gain confidence
and to allow a tutor to confidently confirm that a student is competent to set
up as a therapist we recommend a minimum of two tutorials whilst studying.
Yoga Teaching has three
tutorials to attend if you wish to join the IYN on completion of your studies.
Level 1 of Nutritional Therapy
has two weekends and Level Two has five weekends.
Our open
house program enables students to broaden their experience by coming to a Life
Coaching weekend or trying out Herbalism or Iridology.
Some students bring a partner or friend to the fascinating workshop on
Anatomy & Physiology or A to Z of Essential Oils weekends, making tailor-made
lotions or room sprays. You could also come to our information packed day on
Detoxification (a lifetime maintenance plan) or have fun on our Natural Product
Making Day (chemical free products like our grandmothers used to use). Each
student receives a certificate of attendance which documents their CPD points.
At the
tutorials you will meet a tutor who will have devised a specific programme for
each weekend. This will include a small proportion of theory and give you ample
opportunity to practise the practical element – whether it is going over the
techniques for back massage, doing pair work for case studies, having a tutor
check your Indian Head Massage or Reflexology treatment or being observed doing
a teaching session for yoga. The weekend is an ideal opportunity for you to
have an informal assessment and to ask any questions which you may have. You
need to be satisfied in your own mind that you are confident to set up as a
therapist or attend the weekend as part of your own personal development.
Times
Each
weekend usually starts at 10.00am and concludes at 4.00pm. There is a lunch
break and various drinks break throughout the day. Occasionally a workshop may
start slightly earlier on the Sunday if a student has a flight to catch and
the group give their consent in advance.

Aromatherapy tutorials are from 9am to 6pm.
