It is almost one year since I passed my reflexology exam with Kevala
and I am thrilled by how my new career as a reflexologist has taken off. Over
the year I have built up a small regular clientele with hours to suit my family
life. I felt incredibly nervous working with my first real clients (as I was only
used to practising on friends and family) but, I surprised myself how quickly
I adopted a professional attitude and how knowledgeable I suddenly felt when working
with them. Since, I feel that I have grown so much in confidence and knowledge
and have experienced working with many people with different ailments and it seems
that with each new client I have, I learn something new. I have helped clients
with migraines, kidney stones and back problems etc and feel that it is amazing
how reflexology really helps them. I look forward to attending the advanced workshop
in November with Kevala so I can learn more skills and gain greater knowledge.

What is the aim of the Reflexology course?
Reflexology has increased in popularity over the past few years and has gained
respect as an important, safe and natural healing art. It is used in hospitals,
hospices, nursing homes, sports centres, complementary therapy clinics and in
private practice.
Based on the theory that the human body is divided into zones and that ill
health can arise from an imbalance of energy, plus external and internal factors,
this course shows you how to find and use reflexology points on the foot relating
to different parts of the body in order to rebalance the body and maintain homeostasis.
This wonderful therapy is also great for relaxation and reduction of stress.
The Kevala Centre is offering the City & Guilds reflexology courses with
the diploma being accredited by the International Federation of Reflexologists
(IFR). The full diploma is mapped to the National Occupational Standards (NOS)
for Reflexology and Reflexology Forum Core Curriculum. In total it comprises
of 3 modules, plus anatomy, physiology and pathology and the generic modules
(if you have not studied this before with C&G). See the Kevala Prospectus
for further details.
We also have a full distance learning Kevala Diploma in reflexology which requires
no attendance. However, you would not be able to register with a regulatory
body in the UK with this qualification. You can still currently obtain insurance
to practice though with this diploma (in the UK & Eire). International students
will need to find out the requirements for insurance in their own country.
